The Buddhafield site crew gather together in July to put up tents, plumb the site, meditate together, set up the off grid power supply, play games, maintain the site, live side by side and begin to create the atmosphere that Buddhafield is known and loved for.
There is a fair amount of physical labour and there is also some gentler work, space to learn new skills, fire side sitting and singing, group check ins and daily meditations. We come together as a team, not only to raise the infrastructure of a festival, but to build a community.
Site CrewThe Toilet Wizards are part of the Buddhafield site crew and tend the compost toilets before, during and after the festival.
Toilet WizardsAs part of the Art Décor team, we create the visual ambience for the festival with our creative offerings and natural interventions based on the theme. This year the theme is “Seeds of the Heart”. We will explore this using natural materials found in the environment along with basic materials such as wire, string, water-based glues, clay, wool, wood, paint etc.
Art DécorThe crew food team for during the festival feeds all the volunteers onsite - up to 400 people per meal!

The Buddhafield Cafe runs at various festivals in the South West, serving organic vegan food on proper plates, and drinks in proper mugs.
At the Buddhafield Festival the Cafe and the Crew Food run side by side, but they are quite different. This page is for the Buddhafield Cafe team at the Buddhafield Festival.

Padma PancakesHello! Great that you found your way here and that you’re interested in joining the Peacekeeper team.
The Peacekeepers help to look after and support everyone at the festival
The team gathers together a couple of days before the festival starts, to get to know each other, train together, meet other teams we’ll be working with and generally settle in and build a sense of community.
During the festival the Peacekeeper team members bring their life skills and experience to try to resolve tense or difficult situations through peaceful communication.

All Buddhafield events are free from recreational drugs and alcohol. We believe this is one of the things that makes the atmosphere at our Festival special. A great many people come to Buddhafield because that’s our stated aim and a value we actively promote.
This applies to the crew as much as ticket holders. All crew (many of whom are on site for several weeks during set-up) are expected to strongly set the tone of the event. This policy applies to “legal highs” as well as illegal drugs and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if you can’t respect this.
People tell us that they didn't know they could enjoy a festival without their recreational drug of choice, so if this would be a new way of experiencing a festival, then why not give it a try! Whatever your views on recreational drugs, though, please bear in mind that if you choose to work with us, then we expect this value to be respected and adhered to.
