Crew Food (Before and After Festival) — Festival Volunteers

The “Crew Food (Before and After Festival)” team APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN AGAIN.

This year we are holding two festival events. Working the “Crew Food (Before and After Festival)” will involve arriving Monday 28th June, and working during the set up (29/06 - 08/07), on the 2 days in between the events (12/07-13/07), and the tat down (19/07- 24/07).

The crew food during the set up and tat down feeds all the crew it will take to put these events on. You'll be part of a team of 20 that chops veg, washes pots and plates, serves food, and tends the fire that heats our hot water. All the food is vegan, organic, and mostly wheat free. We work fluidly, assigning tasks in the morning meeting, with a chance for space during different parts of the day. To make sure everyone is covid safe, there might be work bubbles, mask wearing, and social distancing. To volunteer, you need to be prepared to adhere to our guidelines.

As well as kitchen tasks, there is also space for dharma study, meditation, ritual, fireside sitting and singing, games, and each day we will have a group check in to start the morning. We grow and build a team over the days, through working and living together, contributing not just to the practical side of building an event, but to creating the Buddhafield community for everyone.

We ask that you come and be with us 28th June through to 24th July with your full camping kit or live-in vehicle, and bring your energy, generosity, skills, physical labour and your brightness. In return we offer

  • your ticket to the festivals
  • 3 organic vegan meals a day for the whole time you are onsite
  • meditation teaching and dharma input
  • an experience of living in a close knit community on the land.

#### Message about 2021 Festival Volunteering

Buddhafield is working closely with the local licensing authority to make sure our two events, Buddhafield Festival and Buddhafield Weekender, can go ahead safely. We expect that certain restrictions will be in place in order for these events to go ahead.

Before you apply for a volunteering position, we ask that you consider whether you will be comfortable following whatever restrictions are in place as per current government guidelines at the time of the events. This could include, but is not limited to, extra handwashing, social distancing, face masks, no snack provision and extra rules around mealtimes etc.

If you will find this difficult then this year might not be the year for you and we look forward to having you back as a volunteer when we no longer need to follow these restrictions.

#### A Word about Alcohol and Drugs

Please have a think about our view on alcohol and recreational drugs, as described on the Festival overview page.

We don’t wish to judge people’s views on this — and hope it won’t put you off applying! And if this would be a new way of experiencing a festival for you then why not give it a try?! However please bear in mind that if you choose to work with us and are accepted, then we’d expect this policy to be respected.
