At the Green Earth Awakening the Cafe provides three meals a day for crew and all campers who purchase a meal ticket - up to 500 in total! We serve organic vegan food, packed with fresh veg, on proper plates, and tea in proper mugs.
You'll be part of a team that chops veg, feeds the fire that heats our hot water, washes up and serves on the counter. We are also looking for cooks and shift managers - please let us know when you apply if you want to fill one of these roles!
You'll work a 5 hour shift each day of the festival, with a 30 minute check in and check out before and after your shift. There will be a space to meditate with your team before checkin, and dharma input. Shifts are either the morning shift each day, or alternating afternoon and evening, meaning you'll get at least one 24 hour period during the event off.
As well as kitchen tasks, you’ll be able to take advantage of all the GEA has to offer, from yoga to dance to singing, to sitting round the fire, to listening to dharma talks and taking part in ritual. We recommend the opening and closing ceremonies, and the big ritual on Saturday night - there’s usually lots of fire! By volunteering with Buddhafield you’re becoming part of the community, and you’re also helping create the warm generous space that Buddhafield is known for.
We ask that you come and be with us 10-16th September (shifts are 11-15th), in your vehicle or tent, or under your tarp, and bring your energy, generosity, skills, physical labour and your brightness. In return we offer:
